Personal color analysis is a professional service that identifies the specific palette of colors that makes you look clear, harmonious, radiant, and confident. It's based on the science of how different hues interact with your unique skin tone, eye color, and natural coloring.
If you've ever put on a certain top and immediately received compliments, or noticed that some colors make you look tired while others make your skin glow, you've already experienced color theory in action. A professional analysis takes this intuition and turns it into a precise, personalized system you can use every day.
How Does Color Analysis Work?
During a color analysis session, a certified analyst holds professionally-calibrated fabric drapes in dozens of colors against your face. As each drape is placed, both you and the analyst observe how your skin reacts. The wrong colors will make your skin look sallow, emphasize dark circles, blur your jawline, and make you appear older. The right colors will instantly brighten your complexion, make your eyes sparkle, sharpen your features, and take years off your appearance.
The difference is not subtle — most clients are genuinely astonished at how dramatically the right colors transform their appearance.
What Is the Seasonal Color System?
Traditional color analysis uses a four-season model: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each season corresponds to a set of color characteristics. Springs and Autumns are warm-toned, while Summers and Winters are cool-toned. Within those categories, some palettes are brighter or more muted, lighter or deeper.
At 22 HUES, we go far beyond the basic four-season model. Our proprietary 22-palette system recognizes that human coloring is incredibly nuanced. Two people who are both "Summers" can have very different best colors depending on their specific undertone, contrast level, and coloring depth. The 22-palette system captures these subtleties, giving you a truly personalized result rather than a broad category.
Who Should Get a Color Analysis?
Color analysis is valuable for anyone who wears clothes and wants to look their best — which is nearly everyone. It's especially transformative for women who feel stuck in a style rut and keep reaching for the same safe neutrals, anyone who regularly buys clothes that end up unworn because something feels "off," women going through a life transition like a new career, retirement, or becoming a mother, anyone who's recently changed their hair color and isn't sure what works anymore, or anyone who simply wants to feel more confident getting dressed every morning.
What Do You Receive?
After your session with 22 HUES, you receive your complete 22-hue personal palette, specific makeup recommendations for foundation, lip, blush, and eye colors, hair color guidance, a digital color wallet with lifetime access for shopping on your phone, and your best neutral colors for building a cohesive wardrobe. In-person clients also receive a physical color card to carry while shopping.
Virtual vs. In-Person: Which Should I Choose?
Both session types deliver accurate, personalized results. Virtual sessions ($200) are conducted over high-resolution video and are ideal if you're not located near one of our studios or prefer the convenience of doing it from home. In-person sessions ($350) are held at our studios in Littleton, Colorado and Anchorage, Alaska and include tactile fabric draping, a physical color card, and an extended wardrobe consultation.
Is Color Analysis Worth It?
The overwhelming response from our clients is yes — and that they wish they'd done it sooner. Most say the analysis paid for itself within their first shopping trip because they stopped buying clothes that didn't work. Beyond the financial return, clients consistently report feeling more confident, getting more compliments, and genuinely enjoying getting dressed in the morning.
Your color season doesn't change over your lifetime because it's based on your natural undertone, which is constant even as your hair grays or your skin tans. That makes a color analysis a true lifetime investment.
